Adam |

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Tonight I went and saw the movie, “Adam.” It’s the story of Adam, a star gazing-macaroni loving-single guy and how his relationships, work and life unfold through the challenge of living with Asperger syndrome. What I thought would be a quirky, and entertaining movie turned out to be a lot more. The film manages to be incredibly deep while working on multiple levels. Both in the lives of the characters and in a a much broader sense, the film taps into and understands truth in the likes of grace, love, the depth of a woman’s heart/desires, emotions, the human condition, God’s mystery and sin…to name a few. I won’t go in to depth, primarily because that would be impossible without giving away parts of the story. But, this is definitely a movie I’d recommend! And if you do see it, I’d love to hear your thoughts!

The Fall | Movie Recommendation

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

I’ll keep this short and sweet. The Fall is a movie I originally saw while in Rwanda at an ex-pat movie night. It is an incredibly unique film with great depth to it’s story. In addition it’s probably the most beautiful and stunning visual presentation I’ve ever seen in a film. It’s filmed in 16 different countries on multiple continents. As far as the plot, all I can say is it’s really a story within a story that seems to have relevance to most stories. The trailer is below, if you ever are looking for a great movie to rent I’d definitely check this one out!

Attention Men | The Art of Manliness

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Men I have a couple questions for you. Do you know how to tie a strong knot? How about grilling up a good burger? Can you kick down a door should you need to?

Today I stumbled upon The Art of Manliness, a blog dedicated to the lost art of being a man. With pages such as Dress & Groom, Money & Career, Manly Skills, and Relationships & Family, this blog goes all out to resurrect the lost art of what it means to be a man. Using examples from yesterday, and old trades of the past, this site is full of information ranging from amusing and entertaining, to the most practical of “man knowledge”.

Like I said I just came across the blog today and am still exploring, but thus far it looks to be a winner!
